Good News- The clinic is now open
Barry Cooper is the founder of Myotherapy Clinic.
He began his career as an exercise consultant in London health clubs over 25 years ago. During those early years, he qualified as a Sports Therapist, which lead his interests in the study of manual therapy techniques. In 1997, Barry trained at the London School of Sports Massage at the Regents College under Mel Cash.
Following on from this, he became a qualified Soft Tissue Therapist, which allowed him to treat more chronic muscular conditions effectively. Since enlightened by myofascial techniques in 2003, he has become more focused on structural and functional aspects of the body.
Through his years of experience, he has developed a strong knowledge of the anatomical structure, and developed skills in palpation of the soft tissue, to accurately diagnose the cause of the muscular conditions.
The goal is to enhance posture, movement and flexibility and patient self-management.

What Is Myotherapy and How Can It Make You Feel Better?
Some medical professionals do not seem to take soft tissue injuries very seriously, and others may not provide a wide range of treatment options patients need. That may be why so many people are seeking out alternatives for their soft tissue pain and discomfort, and one of the most promising of these is known as myotherapy.
Whether your soft tissue injury was the result of direct trauma, ongoing strain or the wear and tear of daily life, myotherapy may be able to help you feel better. If you want to understand how myotherapy works and what makes it so effective, it is helpful to know what soft tissue injuries are and how they do their damage.
Soft tissue injuries can create trigger points within the muscles themselves, and that can cause the casing around the muscles to shorten, resulting in pain and an increased risk of further damage. If you suffer from this type of soft tissue injury, myotherapy may be able to help, first by addressing the root causes of the damage and second by applying a combination of therapies designed to alleviate the pain and discomfort.
While many in the medical community have downplayed the role of alternative medicine and targeted massage, these attitudes can be counterproductive, especially for those in pain.
Some of the best results of this targeted massage are coming from a technique known as dry needling, a form of medical acupuncture. This effective treatment is then combined with soft tissue therapy, with the end goal to relieve pain and provide permanent relief from those suffering from soft tissue damage.
These targeted massage therapies are specifically designed to provide relief without causing any increased irritation. Not all forms of massage are suitable for treating soft tissue injuries, and it is important to choose your provider with care.
Effective treatment of soft tissue injuries using soft tissue therapy requires specialized training and expertise, including in-depth knowledge of human anatomy and the orientation of muscle fibres. This expertise is combined with top-notch palpatory skills, creating an effective treatment for ongoing pain and discomfort.
If you are looking for help with a soft tissue injury and relief from ongoing pain and discomfort, myotherapy may be able to help. This unique combination approach to muscle therapy and natural healing can be an effective approach for many people, and possibly for you as well.
